The European Housing Policy Conference is the main event in the field of housing during the German Council Presidency. By presenting the findings of the research project “Housing policies in the EU” for the first time, the conference aims to expand the shared knowledge base on European housing policy (regarding goals, issues, management approaches, instruments and stakeholders) and spark in-depth discussion of housing policy among the EU member states.

Presentations of the project findings and of the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the economy and on housing markets will be followed by a moderated discussion of key issues that are relevant to all of Europe, such as the Covid-19 pandemic, climate-friendly building, affordable housing and demographic change. Representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the EU member states will deliver statements live.

Konferenz zur EU-Wohnungspolitik

6. November 2020 in Berlin

Anlässlich der deutschen EU-Ratspräsidentschaft veranstaltet das Bundesministerium des Innern, für Bau und Heimat (BMI) gemeinsam mit dem Bundesinstitut für Bau-, Stadt- und Raumforschung (BBSR) am 6. November eine Konferenz  EU-Wohnungspolitik.

Es werden die Ergebnisse des Forschungsprojektes "Wohnungspolitiken in der EU" erstmalig vorgestellt. Die Konferenz zielt darauf ab, die gemeinsame Wissensbasis über die europäische Wohnungspolitik (in Bezug auf Ziele, Themen, Managementansätze, Instrumente und Interessengruppen) zu erweitern und eine eingehende Diskussion der Wohnungspolitik unter den EU-Mitgliedstaaten anzustoßen.

Auf die Präsentation der Projektergebnisse folgt eine moderierte Diskussion der zentralen europaweiten wohnungspolitischen Themen klimafreundliches Bauen, bezahlbares Wohnen und demographischer Wandel. Vertreter der Europäischen Kommission, des Europäischen Parlaments und der EU-Mitgliedstaaten werden ihre Beiträge live abgeben.
